I‘m going to make an assumption here. You want to make extra money without sacrificing all of your free time. Welcome to the club.
A big part of why I started this website was to help others make extra money through various means.

Millions of American adults 1and I’m sure this applies to other countries as well say they need more cash to meet their needs and live life without worries.
It’s safe to say that if you don’t take action now then you’ll never reach that goal to make extra money. Here’s the thing. There are literally hundreds of ways to make a few hundred bucks every week. Research, planning, and execution will take you to the moon.
This post will share some of the best (and fastest) ways to make that dream a reality.
This is the route many people go when they first start trying to make extra money online.
Companies need insights from their customers and if you fit their demographic profile then they’ll pay for your honest opinion.
The good thing is that there’s no registration fee or “minimum requirements” for almost all of them. Sign up for multiple platforms to earn a decent income.

I’ve seen some strange things for sale on Craigslist.
The same goes for Ebay.
These are general marketplaces where you can sell anything from phones to furniture. If you can write a good story driven product description you’ll be able to fetch an even better price for your items. We’ve evolved to love a good story.
That’s why, every now and then, an advertisement actually means something to us. They tell a story and we responded.
Starting a blog can be a lucrative way to make extra money. It can also be the biggest resource suck you’ve ever encountered.
Here’s the truth.
Blogging is a business like any other. If you treat it like a hobby then you’ll end up getting subpar results. If you take it seriously then you’ll get real income.
There are only a few things you need to do:
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a bit of a bibliophile. Books were my first love and they still have a special place in my heart.
My wife doesn’t care. She sells her old books without remorse. There are many places to sell your old books and textbooks for a good chunk of change.
The first place that comes to mind is Amazon, but there are many other niche places as well. Here’s a quick list that’s by no means exhaustive.
What are you doing with your original iPhone 2g that’s sitting in a drawer? The kids won’t even accept it anymore.
Phones are made with valuable parts that can be reused in different products. At other times, people are nostalgic about the old times and will pay a premium for specific vintage phones. Where there’s demand, there’s a way to make extra money.
A few websites online will connect you and potential buyers while other ones will buy the phones directly. Here are a few of them.
The on demand economy is booming. There are on demand services for almost everything. Uber was one of the pioneers. Now, there are many players in almost every city in the world.
On demand driving is a solid way to make a decent income in your spare time. The major players are Uber, Taxify, and Lyft but you may be able to find some specific to your city. They tend to pay more but have less inventory.
To maximize earnings, sign up for multiple apps and work a few hours every day. At the end of the week you should have a few hundred extra dollars.
This is another aspect of the gig economy. Instead of delivering people, you’re delivering items like food and groceries to busy individuals.
With apps like Postmates, you can run errands for other people and make a decent wage. Just like on demand driving, you’ll get the most bang for your time when you sign up for multiple services and use them together.
When I was little, my mom would drag us to go thrift shopping on the weekends. I hated it but she loved it. It’s only now that I understand how many good things you can find in those places.
They’re also an opportunity to sell your gently used items at a great price. Now, there are platforms online dedicated to connecting you with buyers for your old clothes.
You can also go into a consignment shop near you. There are stores in every major city.
This was actually my main source of income a few years back. You’d be surprised at how much money people make from promoting on social media. It’s also an important aspect for their brand reputation. If they don’t manage it, someone else will take control of it.
Anyways, you can manage the social media channel of small businesses and charge at least a thousand dollars a month. It’s actually cheaper than hiring an employee to do it and, since it’s your job, you’ll do it better.
It’s not difficult to learn either. Just search ultimate guide to x (Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc) and you’ll learn everything you need to know.
It seems like every website has a blog whether they’re selling concrete or digital courses. There’s a reason for that – it’s called content marketing. It’s been proven to get results for businesses.
The backbone of content marketing is, well, content. The problem is that small business owners may not have the time or skills to create content for their websites on a regular basis. They also don’t have the resources to hire someone full time.
That’s where you come in. You can pitch them your services and make some good money doing it. On average, you should be able to command a $50 to $100 for an average length article (1,500 words or less).
Search on websites like Upwork or simply start your own blog to get clients.
The other side of the coin is the business that’s been able to find the time to write content themselves but needs someone to help edit it.
This is where your high school English classes come in handy. All you need to do is make sure their writing is clear and doesn’t have any glaring grammar mistakes. If you notice anything, point it out and give them a few suggestions about how to correct it.
Note that they don’t have to take your suggestions.
Everyone loves good design. Even when we don’t know something is well designed, we can feel it. Things just work the way they’re supposed to. Recent studies make the case for design as a profit center for business.
You know what that means? More people are going to be investing in design to attract and retain customers.
That’s all types of design:
If you have design skills, no matter the level, there’s an opportunity for you. Here are a few places you can get started:
Fiverr is a platform that allows you to get all types of digital work done starting at five dollars. That doesn’t mean you can only earn five dollars per job.
You can add extras or premium gigs to increase your earnings. The great part is you’ll be able to get started in just a few minutes. Post your job cheap, build up a few reviews, and up your prices.
The only issue with it is that it tends to attract buyers who want something dirt cheap. If you can weed out the chaff then you can make decent money.
This isn’t just for high school students who need to get a good grade in the SAT. Though that’s also a great way to make extra cash.
People need tutoring on a wide range of subjects from business to dating. As long as you have a skill that’s in demand, you can capitalize. You will need to prepare yourself so the individuals you coach will feel like they got their money’s worth.
Here are a few questions to ask:
Make lists that answer all these questions. You’ll find a few areas where you can coach other people.
Once you do, sign up for a platform like:
Companies will pay to interview you. It’s because they need to understand what their users want and need on a deeper level. This goes beyond answering a few questions on a survey.
Usually, you’ll have an in person chat or call where they can ask you all types of questions. It’s important to note that these interviews can take up at least an hour so prepare yourself accordingly.
These go a step beyond one on one customer interviews. Focus groups are used by companies to reveal insights they can use to better understand their target market.
They consist of small groups ranging from six to twelve people. The emphasis is on the quality of the participants over the quantity. They can extend into sessions of one to two hours and some even spread over the course of a few weeks.
A unique thing about focus groups is that you’re often talking the top people within an organization and can impact the development of their products directly. You also get to interact with the different members. It’s a unique and many times rewarding experience (apart from the extra cash you make of course).
Cars are funny things. We spend a lot of money on them but only use them, at most, a few hours every day. Why not put it to good use by renting it out every now and then to make more money?
You can also save on expenses. This is especially true if you work in the center of the city and have to pay for daily parking. Rent out your car during those times and pocket the difference.
Mechanical Turk is a service by Amazon that allows you to perform small repetitive tasks to make extra money on the side. Note that you’re not going to make a fortune. At most, you’ll be able to buy yourself lunch a few times a week.
Don’t worry though, there aren’t any major tasks on the platform. It mostly consists of data entry that can’t be automated just yet.
